For all of 17 laps things were going uncharacteristically quietly at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, before a safety car period and the ensuing pit lane pile-up suddenly turned the whole race on its head.
This is turning out to be a brilliant season, better than last year because we have the third force in BMW and Robert Kubica, and also because so many of the races are turning out to be so eventful.
If F1 could always be as good as it has been for most of the races this year it would grow so much in popularity, especially with the cast of exciting drivers we have today.
